As the founder of PhiladelphiaDANCE.org and the Dance Journal, photography was a means for Weisz to capture and record dance and movement in the Philadelphia region. But it had become so much more – a process by which he could tell stories, champion social concerns, and explore the world around him.  Weisz became fascinated by how images can capture fleeting moments in time and yet stir emotions and create impact. An image could create unexpected, accidental, and coincidental connections giving a view into new realms. He became most intrigued by the range of human expression through the arts and through movement. The richness of diverse cultures, its people, customs, celebrations, food, and connections to our planet has allowed him to capture life and nature as it unfolds and our shared humanity. More recently, he has used mixed media, combining photographic images with AI-generated art to create entirely new worlds in this digital age.

In 2019, Weisz’s photos were selected to be part of the National Archive for Stonewall @50, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots which took place June 28–30, 1969. The Stonewall Riots marked a pivotal moment in the struggle for queer liberation in the USA.

He was also a finalist in a Juror selection of photos for Philadelphia Reveal and was displayed at Art Gallery in City Hall, Philadelphia. His work has also been exhibited at the Scotia Bank CONTACT Festival in Toronto. He has received honorable mention and has been on the shortlist for PX3 – Prix de la Photographie, Paris. His photographs have appeared in print in several leading area newspapers and in 2024 he received honorable mention at the Create and Capture with Sony event in Philadelphia.

Weisz is a member in good standing of The National Press Photographers Association.
